Most trips start with where
The best ones start with why
Guest Guide is the journey planning platform that begins with what you want to feel — and builds everything else from there.
Built with destinations, not just for travellers.

The problem
Overtourism isn’t a marketing problem. It’s a diffusion problem.
“Europe needs a tourism model that creates value for all, local communities, businesses, and travellers. Our upcoming EU strategy for sustainable tourism will be a key step in that direction.”
— 23 June 2025

The problem didn’t start with overtourism.
It started with a traveller standing in front of a destination that clearly had a heart and soul — and finding no reliable way in. The places worth finding weren’t secret. They were simply unconnected. No tool existed that could show you how the pieces of a place related to one another, or help you build a journey around what you actually wanted to feel.
The consequence for destinations was overtourism economic imbalance. The consequence for travellers was generic trips that never quite delivered the payoff they were looking for. The consequences for regional operators was invisibility.
Today’s mainstream planning tools and commission-led marketplaces funnel visitors into the same predictable itineraries. Communities feel the strain, while under‑visited towns and SMEs miss out on year‑round value.
-
Hotspots: congestion, resident backlash, infrastructure pressure
-
Regions: uneven distribution, seasonality, fragile SME economics
-
Travellers: generic trips, decision fatigue, shallow experiences
The solution
One platform. A different question.
Three stakeholders served fairly.
Guest Guide inverts the planning process. Instead of asking where and when, it begins with what kind of journey you want — what you want to feel, discover, and take home. From that starting point, it builds an itinerary that connects the places, experiences, and cultural moments that actually deliver it.
Beneath that traveller experience, the platform embeds destination governance directly into what gets recommended — disperal priortities, territorial balance, seasonal weighting, and fair visibility for regional operators.

For Travellers
Journeys built around what you want to feel — not just where you’re going. Discover the places that were always there but never connected.
For Regional Operators
Visibility to the right traveller, at the right moment — without pay-to-win ranking, without additional administrative burden, and without being buried beneath the obvious.
For Destinations & DMOs
Policy embedded in what gets served. Dispersal, seasonality, and territorial balance built into the recommendation engine — not bolted on afterwards.
Not a search engine. Not a marketplace. A concièrge
The GuestGuide concierge conducts a conversation. It listens to what a traveller wants from a journey — the feeling, the pace, the kind of discovery — before it considers where or when. When it has understood the why, it builds an itinerary from verified, curated assets: places and experiences that a regional curator has validated, not a web scraper has indexed.
The difference matters. A web search returns what is popular. GuestGuide returns what is appropriate — for this traveller, in this season, in service of the destination’s own priorities.
The platform is currently in an invite-only alpha with a focus group of test travellers, and in active pilot territory discussions with tourism authorities.

Starts With Why
The concièrge interprets motivation before it touches logistics.
Verified, Not Scraped
Every asset in the platform has been curated and validated — not pulled from the public web.
Governance By Design
DMO priorities — dispersal, seasonality, territorial balance — are embedded in the recommendation engine, not applied as filters afterwards.
How a pilot works
Destination goals set
Operators onboard
Regional businesses are onboarded with structured listings: quality signals, availability windows, seasonal suitability, and the experiences they offer. No commission. No pay-to-win.
Journeys delivered. Insights returned.

A platform built for a problem that is getting larger, not smaller
European destinations need defensible dispersal infrastructure.
The EU’s sustainable tourism strategy is accelerating demand for policy-aligned platforms. GuestGuide is the only planning tool with governance embedded in the recommendation engine itself.
The data moat deepens with every territory.
Verified, curated destination assets cannot be replicated by compute. Every operator onboarded, every event scored, every cultural signal mapped strengthens a proprietary knowledge layer that a general-purpose AI cannot reach.
The model is territory-recurring, not transaction-dependent.
Revenue is generated through territory licensing, operator subscription tiers, and destination insight services — not through booking commissions or advertising. This aligns the platform’s incentives with the destination’s outcomes.

Why We Started This
‘Guest Guide started from a personal frustration. I’d spent decades in tourism, media, and marketing across three continents, and I kept encountering the same experience: destinations with extraordinary depth and character that were impossible to find your way into. The information existed. What didn’t exist was the connection — the layer that could show you how things related, help you understand what kind of journey was possible, and guide you toward the version of a place that matched what you were actually looking for.’
‘That traveller problem turned out to have a destination consequence — and an economic one. The same absence of intelligent connection that frustrated travellers was concentrating tourism in the obvious places, starving regional businesses of visibility, and giving destinations no tools to manage the imbalance.’
‘Guest Guide is the platform I couldn’t find. Its purpose is to give travellers the tools to find the journey they’re actually looking for, give regional businesses a fair route to the visitors who will value what they offer, and give destinations the infrastructure to manage tourism in a way that serves communities — not just visitor numbers.’
